What better way to start off our class blog than by asking whether we are more or less connected to each other because of our technology. Here is what we had to say about it:
I disagree with the statement "we are less connected because of our technology." People are still connected even though we're using technology, because we can communicate by texting one another or even by web-cam, and e-mail. Well, there are so many ways. I think it actually helps us get more connected to on another. People think we're less connect because we usually go on [the internet] a long time, but it's not like we're on 24/7. We take breaks and actually go outside. -Juvianna Nunez
I slightly agree that we are more connected because of our technology. I agree with this because we find the information we need and also that we could stay in touch. Also, I think it is a good thing because people could find information and chat with their friends. The bad thing is that sometimes people could use it for hours and become addicted to it. - Dalila Ovalles
We are not less connected to each other due to technology because the internet is used for good resources of information such as texting by phone, emailing and also using the phone. This makes us more connected, not less connected. - Daisy Hernandez
I say that we are more connected to people because of technology because we talk to people on AIM, yahoo, hotmail, and myspace. We get to talk to people when we are not at school. And when we can't chill with our friends we talk to them through the internet. -Milenka Tello
I think we are less connected because some people are just so into [technology] that they can't hear what others are saying. Parents should take time away from technology and spend time with [their kids] - Daniela Madrid
I think we are less connected to each other because we spend more time instant messaging than talking to [each other] face to face. - Yuri Valencia
I slightly disagree because I both agree and disagree. We can [talk] by texting, using webcams and the computer. On another, if we are listening to music, then we won't listen to what others are saying. -Michelle Moran
